The L Y N N E Tartan Blanket

For over a decade, L Y N N E presided over one of Scotland’s oldest artisan tartan mills. DC Dalgliesh provided the framework for her understanding of traditional weaving synonymous with Scotland.

The mill had been operating for almost 80 years, having woven for iconic brands, movies and people such as Amazon, Pixar’s Brave, Celine, Vivienne Westwood, HRH Queen Elizabeth II and Catherine, Princess of Wales.

Today L Y N N E is the custodian of DC Dalgliesh’s full archive, interspersed with her own collection of tartan from each of Scotland’s tartan mills and makers. She is the owner of the largest personal tartan library on the planet, with over 10,000 swatches spanning hundreds of decades. It is from this extensive archive that she draws her biggest design inspirations. And it is from this archive that L Y N N E created her definitive tartan, in celebration of the library.
